LinkedIn AI Reply Assistant

Privacy policy

What the extension does

LinkedIn AI Reply Assistant reads LinkedIn content to help draft comments, replies, and connection messages. It is independent of LinkedIn. You configure the AI provider and are responsible for reviewing content you post.

Data read and stored

The extension may read post and comment text, author names, your display name, connection profiles, headlines, About text, and recent posts needed by the features you use. It stores preferences, API credentials, writing-style examples, reply history, and queue information in extension local storage. Temporary caches may hold generated replies during a session.

AI processing and recipients

In Gemini mode, prompts go directly to https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com using your API key. Depending on the feature, prompts include post/comment text, author names, your display name, writing-style context and examples, and selected connection profile content. Names or personal information contained in those inputs may be included. Google handles those requests under its applicable privacy policy and API terms. In Ollama mode, prompts are sent to the configured Ollama endpoint. With a loopback endpoint such as localhost, processing runs on your device; a remote endpoint, if configured and reachable, is operated by its owner. In Claude mode, prompts with the same kinds of content go to Anthropic: either through the optional local Claude Code bridge on your device (http://localhost:11435), which forwards them using your Claude Code login, or directly to https://api.anthropic.com using your API key. Anthropic handles those requests under its applicable privacy policy and terms. The developer does not receive these prompts.

LinkedIn actions

Opening other people’s profiles and recent activity in background tabs (used for deeper welcome drafts and content-calendar inspiration) is off by default and only happens if you turn it on in Settings → Advanced. Reading profiles and posts and submitting comments or messages communicates with LinkedIn through your signed-in browser. Data you post becomes available according to LinkedIn’s visibility settings and policies.

Permissions

Storage retains settings, credentials, history, and writing style. LinkedIn host permissions allow the assistant to work on supported pages. AI endpoint host permissions allow requests to the configured provider. Active tab supports actions on the current page, clipboard access supports copying drafts, and alarms and notifications support optional content-calendar reminders.

Retention and control

Local information persists until you remove it using available extension controls or uninstall the extension. Removing local history does not remove content already posted to LinkedIn or provider-held request records. Revoke an API key with its provider to invalidate it. Extension local storage is not a separately encrypted password vault.

Developer services and limited use

The extension contains no developer-operated analytics, advertising, or telemetry service. The developer does not sell user data. Data is used to provide the extension’s stated features and is not used for advertising, creditworthiness, or lending decisions. Use and transfer of user data comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
